1. Acceptance of Terms
These Rider Terms of Engagement ("Terms") govern the relationship between PeddalDrop, a sole proprietorship business trading as PeddalDrop ("PeddalDrop", "we", "our" or "us"), and every individual who registers as a Rider on the PeddalDrop Platform ("Rider", "you" or "your").
By registering on the Platform, creating a Rider account, clicking "I Agree", or using the Platform to provide delivery services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these Terms and any policies issued by PeddalDrop from time to time.
2. Definitions
- "Platform" means the PeddalDrop mobile application, website and related technology through which delivery services are facilitated.
- "Customer" means any person placing an order through the Platform.
- "Merchant" means any business or seller registered on the Platform.
- "Delivery Services" means collection, transportation and delivery of orders accepted by the Rider through the Platform.
3. Delivery Services
The Rider agrees that every accepted delivery shall be performed with reasonable care, honesty and professionalism.
The Rider shall:
- collect orders from Merchants;
- deliver orders to Customers without unnecessary delay;
- comply with delivery instructions communicated through the Platform;
- ensure safe handling of goods;
- immediately report any accident, delay or issue affecting the delivery.
4. Rider Responsibilities
The Rider agrees to:
- maintain valid licences, permits and statutory documents;
- obey all traffic laws and safety regulations;
- maintain the Vehicle in a roadworthy condition;
- wear appropriate safety equipment whenever required by law;
- behave courteously with Customers, Merchants and Company personnel;
- maintain cleanliness and hygiene while handling deliveries;
- immediately report any loss, theft or damage relating to an order.
The Rider shall be solely responsible for any fines, penalties or legal consequences arising out of his/her own acts or omissions.
5. Use of the Platform
The Rider shall use the Platform only for lawful purposes.
The Rider shall not:
- create fake bookings;
- manipulate delivery records;
- misuse incentive programmes;
- permit another person to use the Rider account;
- interfere with or attempt to interfere with the operation of the Platform;
- upload false documents;
- misuse Customer information;
- engage in any fraudulent activity.
PeddalDrop may investigate any suspected misuse and take appropriate action.
6. Payments and Incentives
The Rider shall receive payments for completed deliveries in accordance with the Company's Payment Policy as applicable from time to time.
The Company may also introduce incentive programmes, bonuses, promotional rewards or performance-based benefits.
The Company reserves the right to modify payment structures, incentives or calculation methods after providing reasonable notice through the Platform or any other communication channel.
Payments shall ordinarily be made electronically into the Rider's designated bank account or any other approved payment method.
7. Daily Ownership Contribution (DOC)
Where a Rider participates in the Company's vehicle ownership programme, the Rider agrees to pay the applicable Daily Ownership Contribution (DOC) in accordance with the applicable programme.
The DOC represents participation in the ownership programme and shall not be treated as:
- rent;
- loan repayment;
- salary deduction;
8. Safety and Code of Conduct
The safety of Customers, Merchants, Riders and the general public is of utmost importance.
The Rider shall:
- comply with all applicable traffic laws and safety regulations;
- refrain from driving under the influence of alcohol, narcotic drugs or any intoxicating substance;
- behave courteously and respectfully towards Customers, Merchants and Company personnel;
- not carry any prohibited, illegal or hazardous goods unless expressly authorised by applicable law and the Company;
- immediately report any accident, injury or emergency occurring during the performance of Delivery Services.
The Rider shall maintain the highest standards of honesty, professionalism and integrity while using the Platform.
9. Suspension and Termination
PeddalDrop may suspend or deactivate the Rider's access to the Platform, either temporarily or permanently, if the Rider:
- breaches these Terms;
- provides false or misleading information;
- engages in fraud, theft or dishonest conduct;
- repeatedly fails to comply with delivery standards;
- endangers the safety of Customers, Merchants or other persons;
- violates any applicable law; or
- acts in a manner that adversely affects the reputation or business interests of PeddalDrop.
The Rider may discontinue using the Platform at any time by providing reasonable notice through the Platform or such other mode as may be prescribed by the Company.
Suspension or termination shall not affect any rights or obligations accrued prior to such suspension or termination.
